New Worlds Scholarship Accounts (NWSA)
The New Worlds Scholarship Accounts (NWSA) program provides eligible Florida students in Voluntary Pre-kindergarten (VPK) through grade 5 who are struggling with reading or math an Education Savings Account (ESA) valued at $1,200.
How can the scholarship be used?
- Educational resources to improve reading or math skills (e.g., part-time tutoring, summer or after-school programs)
- Instructional materials (e.g., books and technology)
- Pre-approved services and products through Step Up For Students’ Education Market Assistant (EMA) marketplace (direct payments made to providers)
How can a family apply for the NWSA?
Families should visit the Step Up for Students website to complete the NWSA application. If funds are not currently available, it’s still encouraged to submit an application, as you may be added to a waitlist if one is being accepted.
New Worlds Reading Resources
VPK – 5th graders who are not yet meeting grade level expectations in reading in Florida VPK programs, public schools, and charter schools may be eligible for New Worlds Reading Program.
